Hello Eagle Families,
Michigan Law requires school districts to provide all high school students information on the topics of post-graduation opportunities as as well as informational guides regarding sexual harassment and sexual assault. I am sending this letter to you in advance of sharing with students so that you will be aware of exactly what they will be receiving in compliance with these state laws. Both documents linked below will be sent to your high school student via their student school email account on September 29th, 2025, in order to meet the state’s deadline of October 1st. All of the information as well as applicable laws and memos from the state are linked in the paragraph section below.
MICHIGAN LAW COMPLIANCE:
Pursuant to MCL 380.1293, school districts will provide students in grades 8-12 with informational packets concerning post-graduation career opportunities. This information will be shared with your DHS student on September 26th. The info that will be provided to your students can be found HERE.
Pursuant to MCL 380.1508, Michigan schools are required to provide an informational guide regarding Sexual Harassment & Sexual Assault to all students in Grades 6-12. This guide will be shared with your students via email on September 26th.The exact guide that your student will receive is linked HERE.
If you have any difficulty opening the links or accessing the documents, please email me directly at jstern@deckerville.k12.mi.us and I will send it to you via email attachment or print a copy to send home with your student, whichever you prefer.

Pep Assembly - Friday, September 19 @ 9:30 AM in the gym.

Crowning of the King & Queen at halftime
The dance will begin following the game and ends at 11 PM.
The homecoming dance is for 9-12 grade students only.
7-8 grade students will have their own dance at a later date.

Our annual Sanilac County College Night is scheduled for Monday, October 13, 2025 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the gymnasium at Sandusky Junior/Senior High School. There will also be a Financial Aid 101 Course for parents and students from 5:00-5:45.
