Good morning Deckerville Eagle Families. Due to the mix of snow and freezing rain and due to the vast illness that has hit our staff and students, Deckerville Schools will be closed today Thursday Feb 6. The decision on parent - teacher conference will be made by 11:00 am.
GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR THIS EVENING. WE WILL STILL HAVE 6TH GRADE BOYS VS UBLY BOYS AT 5:30 PM.

Good morning Deckerville Eagle Families. We will run a 2 hour delay today, Thursday January 23. The roads are challenging this morning and the road commission is trying to get some salt down and drifts pushed back on the blacktops. The gravel roads are concerning we have some that are drifted badly. I will have another update around 7:00am.
The JH Dryden game tonight has been canceled. Reschedule is yet TBD. Because of last night's cancellation there will be a triple header tonight. Deckerville will host Kingston JV boys will play at 5pm, followed by Girls Varsity and Boys Varsity. GO EAGLES!!
Due to our cold weather closure, The RFP deadline for the preschool windows and siding project have been extended to Friday January 24 at 9:00am.
Deckerville Athletics has cancelled all evening events. Reschedule dates are yet to be determined.
Due to the extreme cold weather and predicted dangerous temperatures (especially during the morning bus runs) Deckerville Community Schools will be closed Tuesday Jan 21 and Wednesday Jan 22. All after school activities for tomorrow and Wednesday will be announced at a later time.

My name is Tabitha Jensen and I am the Chairperson to the Sanilac County Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). This group reviews and gives advice regarding the special education plan and services offered in the school districts of Sanilac County.
One of the activities we support is the STRIPES Award. This is an award which recognizes individuals in our schools and community who support children who require special education services. This might be a good opportunity to ask your child who they think helps during their school day and what special things that person does to assist them. It may be a teacher, classroom aide, lunch room personnel, therapist, principal, bus driver, counselor or any other person who might touch your child’s life in a meaningful way. Some of our staff is hesitant to send this home, as they do not want you to think they are asking for your recognition. I would like to encourage you to take a few moments to fill out the
enclosed form to commend the efforts of any individual who might encourage, support or enrich a child’s life who receives Special Education.
The STRIPES presentation is in the spring in which the recipients of the award will be honored. Again, please take this opportunity to acknowledge the wonderful people who touch the lives of our treasured children.
I would also like to invite and encourage you to contact me with any comments, questions or suggestions you may have with special education services in our district. I will do my best to facilitate getting your questions asked or getting information to the right people.

There was a previous not error sent out regarding the Varsity boys cancelation of the CPS game that said we are not playing NH. Deckerville WILL be playing at North Huron on Monday 1/13/2025 JV start time will be 6pm followed by the Varsity.
Girls Varsity Basketball in PECK on Thursday night 1/9/25 will be a held after their JV game at approximately 7:30PM
The Girls Varsity game on Tuesday 1/7/2025 will be at Mayville with game time starting at 6PM.
