Dear Deckerville Parents, Students, and Community Members: Despite the many rumors of an imminent school closure, Deckerville Community Schools has no intention of suspending face-to-face learning at this time. Although we have had a handful of parents and students quarantine, so far, no employee or student of our district has tested positive for COVID-19. Please help us continue to successfully ward off this virus by encouraging students to wear masks, wash their hands frequently, and maintain social distancing when possible. Thank you, and have a great weekend. Michael S. Hugan, Superintendent, Deckerville Community Schools.

The MHSAA has decided to manage all ticket sales digitally for football playoff games through GoFan. Each participating school will receive their own ticket sales link. Below are a timeline and your ticket sales link: Timeline Monday Schools receive their private ticket sales link. Share this link only with parents to provide them first access to tickets. Emphasize that parents should not share this link with others – tickets are limited, and you want parents to buy first before the general public. Wednesday @ 6:00pm Ticket sales links post publicly to sell any remaining capacity The URL will not change and can now be shared on the school website & social media accounts Merrill High School vs. Deckerville Community High School Event Link: https://gofan.co/app/events/128572

The number of positive COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in Michigan have recently trended upward. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), hospitals, and local health officials are asking all residents to take steps to prevent a surge in cases that could overwhelm the hospital system. Current orders from the MDHHS now require students in K-5 classrooms to wear masks while in class. Teachers are encouraged to allow for frequent mask breaks for students of all grade levels. The complete MDHHS order can be found at https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/0,9753,7-406-98178_98455-541962--,00.html.
