The number of positive COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in Michigan have recently trended upward. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), hospitals, and local health officials are asking all residents to take steps to prevent a surge in cases that could overwhelm the hospital system. Current orders from the MDHHS now require students in K-5 classrooms to wear masks while in class. Teachers are encouraged to allow for frequent mask breaks for students of all grade levels.
